What started as Velvet Room has become something far bigger than we imagined.

Over the winter of 2025/2026, we launched a temporary popup inside a historic Main Street space. It quickly evolved into one of Park City’s most talked about gathering places. Guests came for the cocktails, the atmosphere, and the music. And they returned because of the people.

Velvet Room confirmed for us that Park City is ready for something different.

This summer, we return to the same location with an expanded experience including a new patio lounge. But summer is only the beginning.

Velvet Room is working on new, multi-experiential opportunities nearby that will serve different occasions, communities, and events under one umbrella. As our vision expands, so does our membership program. Beginning with the 2027/2028 season, membership will no longer be limited to a single venue. In light of this, members will join Athenaeum, our new all-inclusive membership community with benefits and access extending across all participating venues, events, and experiences.

Whether you were one of the guests who discovered Velvet Room during its first season or you’re just hearing about us for the first time, Athenaeum offers an opportunity to become part of the community before our next chapter fully unfolds.

Athenaeum memberships are designed for individuals who value exceptional hospitality, meaningful connections, priority access, and experiences not available to the general public. Early members receive preferred pricing, waived initiation fees, and benefits that may not be available in future membership offerings.
